KDH staff talk about the uses and drawbacks of social media for journalism, and how Killeen-Fort Hood area Facebook pages and other platforms can influence local news. In one recent case,  a Harker Heights Police Department Facebook post showing an elderly man accused of shoplifting groceries had close to 1,000 comments, with many seeming to be on the accused shoplifter’s side.
